Lucky Heaven Gameplay
As touched on earlier, Lucky Heaven has been developed by Lady Luck Games and is loosely themed on Chinese culture. Visually impressive, this straightforward, groovy graphics-intensive game is played over just three reels. More to the point, there is just a single payline spanning those reels, and that’s not what you’d expect. Ordinarily, thematic slots are played over a five-reel format, which means that Lucky Heaven is an outlier regarding originality here.
For all intents and purposes, Lucky Heaven is a slot that is played very much like a classic slot, or fruit machine, if you will. There is one exception to that, though. Lady Luck Games has incorporated a level mechanic into the gameplay. Allow us to explain.
All bets are placed on Level 1 (at least initially). You’ll be permitted a re-spin following a win, but this takes place at Level 2. At Level 2, prizes are multiplied by 4x, and only the highest paying symbols are present on the reels. Defeat will take you back to Level 1, where you’ll use your balance to bet again. Success, though, will see you move on to Level 3. You’ll get an 8x multiplier on anything you win, with only wild symbols present. Irrespective of how you perform at Level 3, you’ll always be sent back to Level 1 afterwards.
This mechanic is similar to the progressive multiplier engine we often see in slots with collapsing or tumbling reels, such as Gonzo’s Quest. Microgaming slots use a similar feature and call it Rolling Reels. Either way, it won’t be alien to slot players.
